Small, German, transparent on QC timing
GTBuy draws most of its modest search volume from Germany, the same market Hipobuy leads. Its homepage stresses QC photos uploaded before warehousing, so you can decide on a return before the clock on the seller's return window runs down. Hipobuy's own return window is 5 days after an item is warehoused, so early photos matter on any agent.
Small review base
Thirty reviews is too few for the 4.2 average to mean much, and the newest we could see was from May 2026. Keep orders small until you trust the service.
Switching a find between Hipobuy and GTBuy
- Open the find on Hipobuy and copy the marketplace URL it is built from (Taobao, Weidian or 1688).
- Paste that URL into the search field on GTBuy.
- Check that the picture, the price in yuan and the size options match what the sheet promised.
- Add the item to your GTBuy cart; storage starts when it reaches GTBuy's warehouse.
The item price stays the same because the Chinese seller sets it. What changes is everything after purchase: QC photos, storage days, available lines and coupons. That is why it pays to compare the parcel estimate on both agents before buying.
A worked France example for a GTBuy parcel
Say you buy three T-shirts through GTBuy for €36 in total and pick a line that quotes €37 for the parcel. France charges 20% import VAT on goods plus transport, about €14.60. Since 1 July 2026 the EU also charges a flat €3 customs duty for each different tariff category in parcels up to €150 sent under IOSS; this basket has 1 category, so €3. Landed cost: roughly €90.60, before any carrier handling fee.
Two things move that number most. Splitting one basket into two parcels can double the category duty, and mixing many item types adds €3 each time. Our EU landed-cost calculator runs the same sum for your own basket, and the France guide covers carriers and delivery times.
Hipobuy or GTBuy? The terms side by side
| Point | Hipobuy (help centre, 10 Oct 2026) | GTBuy |
|---|---|---|
| Status | Working | Operating |
| Free storage | 90 days | Free period listed on its site |
| QC photos | Inspection with photos (count not published) | Photos before warehousing |
| Trustpilot | Score withdrawn (fabricated-reviews warning), 764 reviews | 4.2 / 5 from 30 reviews; newest review we could see 23 May 2026 |
Where GTBuy publishes a number and Hipobuy does not, such as a fixed count of QC photos, that is a point in GTBuy's favour for careful buyers. Where Hipobuy is clearer, for example its written five-day return window after warehousing, it gives you a firm deadline to act on photos. Neither agent's terms replace the parcel quote, which is where most of the real difference between agents shows up.
What to look at in GTBuy's QC photos
Check the label and size tag first, because a wrong size is the cheapest problem to fix before shipping. Then look at seams and stitching at stress points, the colour against the listing under neutral light, and any hardware such as zips and buckles. For shoes, ask for both shoes side by side and the soles. If something is off, raise it while the item is still within the return window; once a parcel leaves China, fixing it is rarely practical.
Our QC guide walks through the same checks with Hipobuy's process in mind.
Keeping a GTBuy parcel affordable
Three habits cut most parcels by a meaningful amount. Remove shoeboxes for all but one pair, since boxes add volume and weight. Group similar items so the €3 EU duty counts fewer tariff categories. Ship once rather than twice, because each parcel pays its own declaration fee and its own duty. Then check whether GTBuy's shipping coupon needs a minimum parcel value, and plan the basket around it.
Our calculator shows the effect of each change on the final price.
Questions worth asking GTBuy support
Ask which lines to your country include import VAT and the €3 category duty in the price, and which leave them to be paid on delivery. Ask how long items usually take from 'arrived' to 'photos available'. Ask whether parcel insurance covers customs seizure as well as loss. The answers, and how quickly they come, are a good test of whether GTBuy suits you.
Hipobuy's own insurance terms, for comparison, cover loss, damage and customs seizure under its compensation standards, with claims due within 7 days of delivery or 45 days of dispatch.
Building a basket on GTBuy from our lists
Start from the Hipobuy finds page or the grid above, pick items in two or three categories at most, and check the size charts before adding them to GTBuy. Fewer categories mean a lower EU duty, and similar items pack more tightly. A mixed basket of a pair of trainers, two tees and a cap is a classic first parcel and lands well under the €150 IOSS limit in most cases.
Who GTBuy suits
GTBuy is a possible second account for German buyers. Its early-photo approach is good practice; its small size is the limiting factor.
