Fan cut, player cut and sizing
Most jersey listings come in two cuts. Fan versions are looser and use heavier fabric; player versions are slim with lighter, often perforated fabric and heat-pressed details. If you are between sizes or want a relaxed fit, take one size up on player cuts. Always compare the chest width in the listing, measured flat, with a shirt you already own.

What customs allows
Plain jerseys, training tops and unbranded football wear are ordinary clothing. Shirts that copy club crests, league patches or national-team badges are trademark-infringing goods under EU rules; customs can seize them, and Hipobuy's insurance excludes confiscated items. We do not recommend buying them.
Why jerseys parcel well
Jerseys are light and pack flat, around 200 to 300 grams each. Identical items share one tariff category, so a stack of shirts adds only €3 in EU duty plus VAT at your country's rate. Mixing jerseys with shorts and socks adds categories. Run the numbers in our calculator.
Season timing
New-season shirts appear in late summer, and demand peaks around the start of leagues and major tournaments. Sellers often restock popular sizes slowly, so if your size is missing, wait rather than size down. French search interest for '2026' jersey sheets appeared in September.
QC for jerseys
Ask for a front, a back, a close-up of fabric and any printing, and the size label. Check that stitching around the collar and sleeves is straight. Raise problems within Hipobuy's 5-day return window. More on photos in the QC guide.
Other places jerseys appear
AliExpress jersey sheets are popular because AliExpress ships directly; see the AliExpress jersey spreadsheet guide. Taobao jersey lists are covered on the Taobao finds page. For the general sheet, return to the Hipobuy spreadsheet homepage.
Shorts, socks and full kits
Full kits are popular, but each piece type is a separate tariff category for the EU duty: shirts, shorts and socks can mean €9 instead of €3. If you want several kits, order the same piece types together and keep the parcel focused.
Printing names and numbers
Some sellers offer custom printing. Write the name and number in the order note in capital letters, ask for a photo of the print before shipping, and check spelling carefully. Custom-printed items are usually excluded from returns, as Hipobuy's returns table lists tailored products among those where the seller decides.
Washing and care
Heat-pressed numbers and badges peel if washed hot. Wash jerseys inside out at 30 degrees and avoid tumble drying. This matters more for player-cut shirts, whose lighter fabric and pressed details are less durable than fan versions.
A typical jersey parcel
Three plain or unbranded jerseys at around €15 each, shipped to France on a €16 line: VAT at 20% on €61 is €12.20, duty for one category is €3, total about €76.20. Add a pair of shorts and the duty becomes €6. The Paris guide covers delivery by La Poste and Colissimo.
Fabric and comfort
Most modern jerseys are polyester, often recycled, with mesh panels under the arms. Fan versions feel softer and heavier; player versions are lighter and cooler but cling more. If you plan to wear a jersey casually rather than for sport, the fan cut is usually more comfortable. Ask for a close-up of the fabric in QC; a fine, even knit is a good sign.
Kids' sizes
Children's jerseys are listed by height in centimetres or by age. Use height, not age, and leave a little room for growth. Children's clothing falls under its own tariff codes in some cases, so a mixed adult and child parcel may count as more categories for the EU duty.
Retro and vintage-style shirts
Retro-style football shirts are a large part of jersey sheets. Their collars, cuffs and older fabric styles vary a lot between sellers, so QC photos of the collar and the inside label matter more than for modern shirts. As with current kits, badge and crest copies are trademark-infringing goods; plain retro-style shirts without protected marks are the safe choice.
Ordering for a team
If you are ordering many identical training shirts for a club or a group, ask the seller about volume pricing and confirm sizes for each person before ordering. Identical items count as one tariff category, which keeps the EU duty low, but a large parcel may exceed €150 and lose the IOSS treatment, so check the total first.
Goalkeeper and training tops
Goalkeeper shirts and training tops often have longer sleeves and different fabrics from outfield shirts. Check sleeve length and cuff style in QC photos, and expect them to weigh a little more. Unbranded training tops are among the most practical items in jersey sheets: comfortable, cheap to ship and free of trademark issues.

Questions people ask
Is there a Hipobuy jersey spreadsheet?
Yes, many sheets include jerseys. This page's grid is filtered to jerseys and football wear from repbuysheet.com.
Should I size up for player-cut shirts?
Usually yes, by one size, because player cuts are slimmer. Check chest width in centimetres.
Can customs seize football jerseys?
Shirts copying club or national badges are trademark-infringing goods and can be seized in the EU. Plain or unbranded sportswear is ordinary clothing.
How many jerseys fit in one parcel duty-wise?
Identical jerseys share one tariff category, so ten shirts pay €3 duty, plus VAT, if the parcel stays within €150 under IOSS.
Are retro football shirts allowed?
Plain retro-style shirts are ordinary clothing; copies of protected club or national badges are trademark-infringing goods.
