Hoobuy spreadsheet users: warning signs we found and safer next steps

Hoobuy at a glance on 10 October 2026

Hoobuy sits in the Reported group on our agent status list, next to OOTDBuy, CSSBuy, USFans.

Why the status changed

Hoobuy had a wide marketplace list and European payment options such as iDEAL and Blik, and its strongest market is Brazil. Recent reviews tell a different story from its early reputation: several one-star posts describe purchases that did not progress and refunds that took weeks. The newest review we found is from mid-September, after which reviews stop, and our probe on 10 October got an empty page body. Taken together, those are the signals our rules treat as a downgrade from Working to Reported.

If you are owed money

Open a ticket with the order numbers and the exact amount, and keep copies. If support only sends automatic replies, move to your payment provider's dispute process while it is still within time.

Same product, different agent: Hoobuy and Hipobuy

When two agents can buy the same Weidian or Taobao listing, the decision moves to the parcel. Price the full parcel, not one item: put your likely basket into Hipobuy's shipping estimate and into Hoobuy's, using the same weight and country. A 2 kg parcel to Spain or Germany can differ by more than the cost of a whole T-shirt between agents.

To move a row over, copy the source link from the Hipobuy product page and paste it into Hoobuy. If you see a different price, refresh: the seller may have changed it, or a size variant may be selected.

Landed cost of a Hoobuy haul delivered to Belgium

Say you buy a jacket, a cap and a belt through Hoobuy for €95 in total and pick a line that quotes €19 for the parcel. Belgium charges 21% import VAT on goods plus transport, about €23.94. Since 1 July 2026 the EU also charges a flat €3 customs duty for each different tariff category in parcels up to €150 sent under IOSS; this basket has 3 categories, so €9. Landed cost: roughly €146.94, before any carrier handling fee.

Two things move that number most. Splitting one basket into two parcels can double the category duty, and mixing many item types adds €3 each time. Our EU landed-cost calculator runs the same sum for your own basket, and the Belgium guide covers carriers and delivery times.

Hoobuy and Hipobuy compared on the same points

For most European buyers the deciding row is not in the table at all: it is the shipping quote for a real basket to their own address. Put the same weight and country into Hipobuy's estimator and Hoobuy's, then add VAT and the €3 per-category duty, which are the same whichever agent ships.

Paying Hoobuy safely

Use a card or PayPal rather than a bank transfer or crypto where you can, so a payment dispute stays possible if an order stalls. Keep the account balance close to zero between orders: a balance is money you have handed over without a product attached. If Hoobuy offers a coupon that requires a large top-up, compare the saving with the risk of leaving that money parked.

Write down order numbers and dates. If you ever need support or a dispute, a simple timeline makes the case much faster.

Choosing a shipping line from Hoobuy to the EU

Agent lines to Europe fall into three groups. Tax-included lines charge VAT and the €3 per-category duty up front, so nothing is due on the doorstep; they cost a little more per kilogram but avoid surprise bills. Postal lines are cheapest and slowest, often three to five weeks, and may leave VAT to be collected by the local post. Express couriers are fastest, around one to two weeks, and usually charge a clearance fee on top of taxes. For a first Hoobuy parcel to Germany, France or Spain, a tax-included line is the least stressful choice.

Whatever you pick, compare the volumetric weight: bulky jackets and boxed shoes are charged by size as much as by weight.

Before your first Hoobuy order

• Send support one simple question and time the answer.
• Find the storage period and the fee that starts after it.
• Note how many QC photos are free and what extra photos cost.
• Check the payment surcharge for card, PayPal or bank transfer.
• Order one inexpensive item first and follow it all the way to your door.

These five checks take less than an hour and tell you more about Hoobuy than any review average. Keep screenshots of the terms you read, since agents change wording without notice.

Using our filtered lists with Hoobuy

Each category page on this site filters the photo grid to one type of product: watches, jerseys, shoes. That makes it quicker to compare several sellers' versions of the same kind of item before buying through Hoobuy. Note the seller and the price in yuan, convert the link, and check that Hoobuy shows the same price; differences usually mean a different variant is selected.

Who Hoobuy suits

Pause new orders on Hoobuy and move your spreadsheet to a working agent such as Hipobuy, Kakobuy or Superbuy. We will change the status back if the evidence improves.
